Campaign Timeline & Progress
Planning for Our School. Our Future. The Campaign for Bay Ridge Prep began early in Summer 2021 when it appeared likely that Bay Ridge Prep would be in a position to purchase property on Shore Road. On this page, we will keep you updated on the milestones that have occurred already and what we anticipate as we move forward with this exciting project.
In Summer 2021, the school secured financing from Connect One Bank for the potential purchase of property at 7509 Shore Road. The property was the former site of offices and residences occupied by clergy of The Redemptorists. The property is 27,500 square feet and includes a main building and residence.
At a meeting in Fall 2021, the school’s Board of Trustees approved purchasing the 7509 Shore Road property. On October 28, 2021, the school officially purchased the property and announced the news to the community.
Winter 2021 & Spring 2022
Soon after the purchase of 7509 Shore Road was completed, the school administration and faculty spent time viewing the property and giving feedback on current and future needs. Architects then began to finalize floor plans for the property.
Demolition of the interior of the main building started in Summer 2022 as part of a gut renovation project to transform the facility into a new and modern school building for Bay Ridge Prep. A dedicated website, future.bayridgeprep.org, was launched in July 2022 to keep the community updated on the campaign and Shore Road building renovations.
Finalized floor plans will be filed soon with the Department of Buildings with the hope of construction and renovations beginning by December 2022. As the campaign moves forward, the community will learn more about how to support its goals and the future of the school.
