about the campaign

Bay Ridge Prep has taken an exciting step forward in bolstering the growth of our school and its future by purchasing property at 7509 Shore Road in Brooklyn. Located along the miles-long stretch of Shore Road’s waterfront parkland, fields and running paths, the new 27,500 square foot property includes a facility that will undergo a full renovation before opening to students during the 2024-2025 school year. The new building, along with its on-site outdoor space and the neighboring park, will allow us to enhance all of Bay Ridge Prep’s current programs. It will alleviate space constraints while making it possible to expand the teaching and learning opportunities for future generations of Bay Ridge Prep students, faculty and staff.

Our School. Our Future. The Campaign for Bay Ridge Prep is a multi-year capital fundraising drive that will play a key role, along with bank financing, in the development of this new space. Architects have been engaged and our school’s leadership team has toured the property several times to plan out how this new space will enrich the entire school. Demolition and a complete gut renovation of the existing building on the property started in Summer 2022 as part of Phase 1 of this project. Once completed, Grades 9-12 will move to Shore Road while space there will also be available for use by Grades K-8. Phase 2 will include the addition of a second building consisting of a gym space that can also serve as a versatile venue for school community events.

Purchasing this property is the result of a journey that began in 2016 when our administration and trustees commenced an active search for property and funding that would enable us to meet the increasing demand for a Bay Ridge Prep education. As we look toward our 25th anniversary, we are pleased to move into our next quarter-century with this incredible opportunity.
